3 Things You Need To Know (30/6/17)
Please note this blog post was published over 12 months ago and so may not include the most up-to-date information, for example where regulation around investing has changed.

Welcome to our daily update, where we summarise the key talking points from the last 24 hours.
1. Trump travel ban returns
Donald Trump’s controversial travel ban is back in force today, with people from Iran, Libya, Syria, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen now barred from entering the US unless they have a close relative living there.
However, much of the attention today has centred on Trump’s Twitter attack against two television journalists.
2. Germany legalizes gay marriage
Germany has legalized gay marriage, following a clear majority vote in the parliament.
Chancellor Angela Merkel opposed the measure, and stated that she believed “marriage is between a man and a woman.”
Nevertheless, she freed members of her party from the whip, in order to vote in the way they wanted. The bill passed with a majority.
3. George Osborne
George Osborne wanted to scrap 1p and 2p coins when he was the Chancellor, but was put off the idea by David Cameron.
Mr Osborne believed the coins were in need of a modernizing change, and cited the fact that they cost more to produce than they are actually worth.
However, David Cameron was concerned with the symbolism of the Conservatives scrapping the penny.
