Mugabe has often been criticised during his time as leader, with brutality and economic suffering leading to condemnation of his Presidency.

2. Russia

Ciaran Martin, the chief executive of the GCHQ National Cyber Security Centre, has alleged that Russia attacked UK media, telecommunications and energy sectors in the past year. He claims that the attacks are “seeking to undermine the international system”.

3. UK unemployment

UK unemployment has  fallen to a record low, figures from the Office for National Statistics revealed today.

The number of jobless fell 59,000 to 1.42 million during the three months to September.

Chancellor Philip Hammond responded with a tweet, stating “Unemployment at record low and productivity now growing at fastest rate since 2011. More still to do at Budget to lock this progress in.”
