1. Mexican earthquake

A 7.1 magnitude earthquake has killed at least 225 people and caused destruction in Mexico, less than one month after a 8.1 magnitude earthquake killed 91 and caused chaos in the south of the country.

2. Brexit

The UK government may be prepared to pay the European Union £17.7 billion to meet financial obligations after Brexit.

The Financial Times has reported that Theresa May could be set to include the figure in her major Brexit speech in Florence on Friday.

Downing Street has responded, saying it is “pure speculation” at this point.

It had been previously reported that the EU could be thinking of a sum in the region of £53 billion go settle matters.

3. Housing costs

A report by the Resolution Foundation has indicated that young people in Britain are spending three times more than their grandparents did on housing.

Less space and longer commutes are also contributing to a “housing catastrophe.”

The report highlights that those in their Twenties and Thirties are spending nearly a quarter of everything they earn on the cost of a house.

4. Terror arrests

Two more people have been arrested in connection with last week’s terrorist explosion a London tube train.

A Thirty year old and Forty-Eight year old were arrested in Newport, Wales. An Eighteen year old and Twenty One year old from London are already in custody.
