1. Budget reaction

2. Missing submarine
An event that could be an explosion has been detected in the search for an Argentine submarine.
The ARA San Juan vanished last Wednesday, sparking a search which has been assisted by many countries including the USA and Russia. There are 44 crew on board.
3. Lancashire floods
The bad weather afflicting the UK has caused floods in Lancashire, with more than seventy people having to be rescued. Over 500 emergency services calls have been made, and the north of the UK remains prone to further downpours.
4. Border security
The UK Border Force seized more than 6,300 firearms and other weapons at UK ports in 2016/17, which has trebled the numbers from the previous year.
A department spokesman said “The UK has some of the toughest gun laws in the world and we are determined to keep it that way.”
