Welcome to our daily update, where we summarise the key talking points from the last 24 hours.
1. Corbyn
Jeremy Corbyn has used his main speech at the Labour party conference to tell members that the party is “on the threshold of power.”
Claiming to now be in the political mainstream, Mr Corbyn spoke for for over an hour, and made promises on issues such as rent control.
He believes that Labour are now the “government in waiting.”
2. Trump’s tax plan
US President Donald Trump is set to outline his major tax cut plans later today, including a corporate tax cut.
Ahead of this, Trump has tweeted “Virtually no President has accomplished what we have accomplished in the first 9 months-and economy roaring.”
3. Spying
A woman contracted to carry out work for the government has been arrested on suspicion of breaking the official secrets act.
The 65 year old was arrested in London by the counter-terrorism command, “acting upon intelligence received.”
Her arrest relates to “penalties for spying.”
4. US and Russia working together on space station
The US and Russia are set to work together on the first space station to be based on the moon.
The NASA led project is set to begin in the mid 2020s, and is designed to be a major step in the long term mission to send people to Mars.
