1. Grenfell Tower
The number of deaths during the Grenfell Tower fire has gone up to 30, with police saying that more fatalities are expected. The BBC are reporting that as many as 76 people could be missing.
The Queen visited survivors of the blaze today. Meanwhile, Theresa May has ordered a full public inquiry in search of answers to explain how this tragedy happened and potentially to bring any guilty parties to justice.
2. President Trump changes focus to Hillary Clinton
Amid scrutiny over his potential role in an Obstruction Of Justice investigation, President Donald Trump has attempted to shift the narrative on to Hillary Clinton.
“Why is that Hillary Clinton’s family and Dems dealings with Russia are not looked at, but my non-dealings are? Crooked H destroyed phones w/ hammer, ‘bleached’ emails, & had husband meet w/AG days before she was cleared- & they talk about obstruction?” he tweeted.
3. Russia may have killed IS leader
Russian authorities are investigating whether their May 28 air strike in Raqqa killed the head of IS.
Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi and up to 330 other fighters may have been killed on May 28. Russia is supporting Syrian President Bashar al-Assad by bombing IS and other rebel groups oppose to the Assad regime.
4. NHS attack came from North Korea
The NHS cyber attack in May was carried out by hackers from North Korea. It is believed that the Lazarus group were responsible for crippling computers around the world, however, it isn’t known if the North Korean government were involved in the attack.
5. Ronaldo “upset” over tax row
Cristiano Ronaldo is “upset” and wants to leave Real Madrid after being accused of tax fraud. Spanish authorities accused him of evading tax to the value of 14.7 million euros between 2011 and 2014. A BBC source reports “He doesn’t want to stay in Spain. At this moment he wants to leave.”
