True Potential Investor Success Stories In 2017

As we approach the end of 2017, we can reflect on what has been a positive and successful year for True Potential Investor.

We are proud to have seen some of our biggest achievements recognised in the media, with institutions such as the BBC looking to us on issues such as Personal Finance. In addition to our headline-making research and expert analysis, we’ve also been recognised for our continued achievements.

Winning the European Business Of The Year in May was a highlight for everyone involved in our business. The awards engaged with over 33,000 businesses to find this year’s winners and received near 250,000 votes from across Europe. Our Managing Partner, David Harrison, said “The last few years have been thoroughly amazing for True Potential and this award takes it to another level.”

The success of the company was also recognised by the Financial Times’ FT1000 list, which placed our business as number 203 in the ranking of Europe’s fastest growing companies.

The Guardian’s University Awards 2017 noted our partnership with the Open University, with the Business Partnership category won by the OU and True Potential Centre for the Public Understanding of Finance (True Potential PUFin). Over 200,000 people have taken the free online courses such as Managing My Financial Journey, Managing My Money and Managing My Investments.

In August, the True Potential Portfolios soared through the three billion barrier of assets under management. The movement from two billion to three billion took only five months, with investors benefiting from Advanced Diversification, expertise from our eight investment partners, and our technology led approach.

Our Savings Gap research continued to make headlines in 2017, with national press such as the BBC and Daily Express covering our key findings. “A big worry is the proportion of people needing debt just to get by,” David Harrison told the BBC, “That’s a bubble waiting to burst.”

David Harrison was named Entrepreneur of the year in October, with the Entrepreneurs’ Forum recognising his “proven track record in business growth and entrepreneurialism.” The BBC had profiled David’s business success earlier in the year, and he told them “It’s about believing in what you’re doing… If anything goes wrong – trust me – I know first.”
