True Potential Sports Day Raises £3,456 For The Sick Children’s Trust

True Potential staff have enjoyed a day of fun-filled competition, and raised £1,728 for The Sick Children’s Trust in the first ever True Potential Sports Day. True Potential’s Senior Partners then doubled staff donations, resulting in £3,456 being donated to The Sick Children’s Trust.

Organised by True Potential’s Group Executive Assistant, Esther McAusland, True Potential’s Sports Day featured events such as Egg & Spoon Power Knee Ups, Dizzy Penalties, and Keepy Ups. With the majority of True Potential’s 300 strong workforce working from home, events were held virtually, coming together in the epic video you can watch below.

At True Potential Head Office, we have a small team operating as part of True Potential Site 2, ensuring that essential office based jobs are completed. Our dedicated Site 2 team took part in a 100m race in the True Potential Car Park, with Head Of True Potential Adviser Services Gregg Lang coming out as the gold medallist.

The Sick Children’s Trust is a fantastic cause to get behind, a charity that gives almost 3,800 families with a seriously ill child in hospital a warm and comfortable place to stay when they need it most. When a child suddenly becomes ill, there’s no time to plan. The Sick Children’s Trust is the charity that gives families one less thing to worry about by giving them a place to stay, and someone to talk to, free of charge just minutes from their child’s bedside. True Potential’s Sports Day means 115 families will now be able to get support in their time of crisis.

Speaking about staff fundraising efforts for this brilliant cause, True Potential Chief Executive Daniel Harrison said “It wouldn’t be a summer event without a sports day being held and it was amazing to see the True Potential team get well and truly stuck in. There was some great efforts and some great laughs along the way. Importantly, we also raised close to £3,500 for a worthwhile cause with The Sick Childrens Trust. I’m proud of the team for their fundraising efforts’

Sports Day organiser, Esther McAusland, said “The Sports Day was so much fun to organise, everybody got involved and enjoyed themselves knowing they were supporting such a worthy cause, but it was also a great way for everyone to still feel connected as a company whilst working remotely. My personal favourite challenge was the dizzy penalty, it was funny watching people trying not to fall over and of course the parents and child 100m race, it was brilliant to see the kids getting involved and the adults pretending they didn’t want to win!”

Everyone at True Potential has been delighted to take part and donate to The Sick Children’s Trust and other charities throughout the recent lockdown period. Despite being away from our state of the art Head Office, staff have kept high spirits and a community feeling amongst the teams, helped along by monthly charity challenge weeks, weekly Quizzes and Friday afternoon webinar laughs.
