True Potential’s ‘On the Money’ campaign aims to help improve financial literacy throughout the UK by engaging with secondary schools to help teach students about money.

79% of young people believe better numeracy would improve their financial management

52% of young people admit they feel confused about financial matters either some or a lot of the time

91% of Britons want an increase of mathematics in education, such as budgeting and investing

A YouGov survey from September 2023 commissioned by True Potential found 79% of young people said they believe that higher numeracy skills would positively impact their ability to manage personal finances, with 52% admitting they feel confused about financial matters either some or a lot of the time. The survey also found that 91% of Britons want an increase of mathematics in education, such as budgeting and investing.

Free lessons.

To address the problem of poor financial literacy, our On the Money campaign will provide students with free lessons from over 115 True Potential Wealth Management advisers nation-wide, who will guide them through exercises to practise managing their finances.

Our proud history providing access to financial education

True Potential has a proud history of providing access to financial education. In 2013, we partnered with the Open University to create the True Potential Centre for the Public Understanding of Finance. As well as carrying out research into financial inclusion, the Centre also developed a suite of free online personal finance courses, accessed by over a million learners across the UK to date.

Since 2017 True Potential’s charity partner, the Harrison Foundation, has opened up six Centres for Social Mobility across the North of England, which provide training to young people to help them grow in confidence and secure a job.
